Útdráttur

This article describes a survey that was conducted at Reykjavík University into distance students' attitudes toward distance learning. Participants were positive in their attitudes toward distance education, although they found that distance learning puts more demand on them than on-campus learning. They believed that they had more control over their time, were active using the school LMS system and considered realistic projects and recorded lectures giving them good learning success. Students that mentioned teachers in their opinions of the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning stressed the importance of the teacher and the teaching methods, they wanted more good quality material and active teachers that respond quickly to their enquiries and use miscellaneous methods in the teaching.
