Abstract
The use of wavelet packet transformation as a preprocessing tool for statistical classification of electroencephalography (EEG) waveforms is examined. Results show that preprocessing of EEG signal with wavelet packet transformation, both enhances the feature detection capability of a classifier and reduces the input vectors dimensions considerably.
