Abstract

In this study, an extrema-free problem is solved by minimizing the step response deviation from a given no-extrema reference function. The resulting equations for calculating the numerator coefficients are simple and offer a highly practical solution to the problem of zero selection for extrema-free step responses of n-th order systems having fixed poles.
