Abstract
It is well known that the organization of the electric power sector differs from country to country. In these notes we will attempt to expand on least cost planning philosophy by considering the question of the power sector organization and different representations of it. In addition we will consider some issues regarding the least cost planning philosophy in an environment as exemplified by the case of Iceland.
