Abstract

The Eyjafjallajökull eruption in April 2010 caused severe and long-lasting impacts throughout southern Iceland. This paper explores some of the strategies implemented by adults to help children cope with the ongoing effects. These strategies included reinstituting routines and providing activities such as storytelling and art to help children communicate and process their experiences.
