Abstract

The pneumococcal PS ELISA has a long and complex history. While the procedure has undergone many refinements over the years, we present a current consensus guidance protocol. This protocol is a web-based document for those who want to use the ELISA to test the immune response to pneumococcal PS and PS-protein conjugate vaccines (http://www .vaccine.uab.edu). It contains detailed information on the materials, reagents, conditions, and procedures to aid those interested in implementing the pneumococcal ELISA that yields results that are directly comparable within and between laboratories.
