Abstract
A deposition reduction of 85% for sulphur deposition and 40% for nitrogen deposition in relation to the 1980 deposition level is required in order to protect 95% of the forest resource in Sweden. This corresponds to a target load of >6 kg S ha-1 yr-1 in southern Sweden, 4 kg S ha-1 yr-1 in center Sweden and 3 kg ha-1 yr-1 in northern Sweden. Under 1992 deposition level, still 75% of the forested area receive higher acid deposition than the critical load. -from Authors
