Abstract
The influence of alloying and strain upon charge transfer across interfaces was investigated in MoxV1-x/V (x=0.5, 0.75, 1) superlattices. The extension of the charge transfer was measured using the relation between the hydrogen solubility and the electron density. The hydrogen concentration was measured by means of the H1(15N,αγ)12C nuclear reaction. In Mo/V superlattices, the extension of the charge transfer was found to be 3 ML. In Mo0.75V0.25/V superlattices it was found to be 2 ML whereas no charge transfer was observed in a Mo0.5V0.5/V superlattice.
